An innovative African platform elevating local designers, sustainable craftsmanship, and bold cultural expressions across East Africa.
Fashion Kraft exists to transform the creative economy of East Africa through sustainable, culturally-rooted fashion.
Providing mentorship, visibility, and market access to emerging Tanzanian and East African designers who lack infrastructure but possess extraordinary talent.
Documenting and celebrating traditional craftsmanship, indigenous textiles, and ancestral techniques before they disappear into homogenized global fashion.
Championing circular fashion, zero-waste production, and nature-inspired design that respects the land our communities depend upon.
Building bridges between local artisans and international markets, donors, and media to create lasting economic opportunity.
Five years of runway history. Every show, every season, every story — preserved as a living library of East African fashion.
"We are not just staging fashion shows. We are building a permanent archive — a living library of inspiration, knowledge, and hope for the next generation of African creatives."
— Erick Ezekielsen, Founder
Fashion Kraft gave me my first runway opportunity. Without this platform, my brand would still be unknown. They don't just host shows — they build careers.
The archive approach changes everything. My work from Season 2 is still being discovered by buyers in Europe. This is permanent visibility, not a one-night event.
As a donor, I wanted transparency. Fashion Kraft delivers — every contribution directly funds designer training, venue access, and youth mentorship programs.
I started Fashion Kraft in 2020 with a simple belief: that the most beautiful fashion in the world was already being made in our villages and towns — it just needed a stage, a camera, and a permanent home.
Today, as I step back to embrace fatherhood, this platform is evolving into something bigger than any single season. It's becoming a legacy. A living archive that will outlive us all.

True Beauty, Authentic Fashion. This is not a tagline. It is the standard by which we measure every designer we elevate, every show we stage, and every partnership we form.
Most fashion platforms disappear after the lights go down. We are building the opposite: a permanent, searchable, growing archive of East African fashion history. Every show becomes a page. Every designer gets a profile. Every season compounds the last.
We are not an events company. We are a cultural institution in the making — one that happens to throw extraordinary events.
Our hybrid model means Season 4 is not the end of a cycle. It is simply the next layer in a platform that will keep running, season after season, year after year, indefinitely.
We identify raw talent in underserved communities and provide the mentorship, production resources, and international visibility required to turn potential into sustainable careers.
From kanga patterns to Maasai beadwork, we document and celebrate the techniques that define East African identity — ensuring they evolve rather than vanish.
We mandate eco-conscious practices across all shows: upcycled materials, zero-waste set design, and carbon-neutral logistics wherever possible.
We broker relationships between local creatives and international buyers, media, and donors — turning local excellence into global opportunity.
Erick Ezekielsen founded Fashion Kraft in Dar es Salaam with a vision: prove that Tanzanian fashion could compete on the world stage without losing its soul. The first conversations happened in living rooms, not boardrooms.
The inaugural Uzuri Asilia Fashion Night launched in the historic coastal town of Bagamoyo. Twelve designers. One hundred guests. A proof of concept that became a movement.
We moved to the beach. Bigger production, international press coverage, and the introduction of the Fire Girl and Afro Girl series — expanding beyond a single flagship show.
Taking fashion to the people. Season 3 proved our model works outside major cities, empowering rural artisans and mining-community youth to access the creative economy.
Season 4 launches November 28, 2026 — but more importantly, Fashion Kraft officially becomes a permanent archive. Every past show is now a permanent, indexable, shareable page. The legacy begins.
"I chose independence over investment, community over celebrity, and permanence over hype. This archive is my gift to the next generation."
— Erick Ezekielsen

While rooted in Tanzania, we actively welcome designers, artisans, and partners from across East Africa and the broader African continent. Our archive documents pan-African creativity.

When we announced Season 3 would leave Dar es Salaam, people thought we were crazy. A fashion show in a mining town? In Shinyanga? But that was exactly the point.
Kahama is not a fashion capital. It is a hardworking community where young people dream of creative careers but lack the infrastructure to pursue them. By bringing Uzuri Asilia to Kahama, we proved that high fashion does not belong only to capital cities — it belongs everywhere talent exists.
The venue was a converted community hall. The runway was built by local carpenters. The lighting was powered by a generator that failed twice — and the audience cheered louder each time it came back on.
Eighteen designers walked. Six were from Kahama and surrounding towns, showing for the first time. The other twelve were Dar es Salaam veterans who came to share the stage — and the spotlight — with their rural counterparts.
The result was magic. International buyers who attended still reference the "Kahama collection" in their orders. Local newspapers covered fashion as front-page news for the first time. And a group of teenage girls from the audience applied to our mentorship program the next day.
This is what Fashion Kraft means by "permanent archive." Season 3 is not a memory. It is a page. A searchable, shareable, citeable record of what happened when fashion chose community over convenience.
